Microsoft caps off its July 2022 Xbox Game Pass offerings with the addition of one of the most critically-acclaimed games of all time.
Every month, Microsoft adds a slew of games to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, ranging from older release to brand-new, day one titles. July 2022 was no exception to that rule, with a number of new Xbox Game Pass games added throughout this past month. Now the new Xbox Game Pass games for July 2022 have come to an end in the form of one of the industry’s most critically-acclaimed indie titles.
From today on, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play the critically-acclaimed Inside. Inside, for those who may be unfamiliar with the game, is the latest project from Playdead, the same studio that put out the well-received Limbo. Inside is a side-scrolling puzzle/platformer, with some rather ingenious gameplay twists, an engrossing atmosphere, and shocking story developments tying it all together as an absolute must-play.
Inside earned rave reviews at the time of its release and is in fact one of the highest-rated indie games of all time. So even though the game has been out since 2016, it’s still an incredibly strong addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup. Any Xbox Game Pass subscribers that have yet to play Inside should definitely give it a shot now that’s available to play through Game Pass.
Besides Inside‘s incredible reviews making it a must-play game, it’s also worth pointing out that it’s a small time investment compared to many other titles available through the Game Pass subscription service. Inside can be beaten in just a few hours, and those that want to 100% the game and get all the achievements won’t have to put in that many more hours to do so. Its short length is one of its strengths, however, as it means that the game has no filler and is a consistently high-quality experience from start to finish.
Inside is the last new Xbox Game Pass game for July 2022, but subscribers shouldn’t have to wait all that long to check out even more titles. While Microsoft has yet to fully reveal the new Xbox Game Pass games for August 2022, previous announcements have confirmed at least four titles that will be joining the lineup. There will undoubtedly be more games announced for the Xbox Game Pass August 2022 lineup, but for now subscribers can count on playing Turbo Golf Racing on August 4, Two Point Campus on August 9, Midnight Fight Express on August 23, and Sam Barlow’s Immortality on August 30.
